Apple Iced Tea

Something to cool you off.

Being in lock down and wanting something cool and sweet, so I decided to whip this up.

This recipe overall took around 10 minutes plus cooling time.

Equipment;

Spatula

Chopping Board

Knife

Large Jug

Strainer

Small pot

Kettle

Ingredients;

This makes around 4 - 5 drinks

4 Tea Bags - English breakfast, if you like a stronger taste add any amount up to 7

2 Litres hot water

1 Apple peeled and diced

2 tbsp. Honey/Agave

2 tbsp Sugar

Optional extras; ADULTS ONLY

Ice cubes

Whiskey

Bourbon

Prosecco

Vodka

To start make sure your jug is clean and add the tea bags to it, flick the kettle on to boil and whilst that is boiling peel and dice up your apple. Save the skins for a snack or to decorate your drink.

Add the diced apple in to the small pot with the sugar and a small amount of the cold water, simmer on a medium heat for around 10 minutes.

Once the kettle is boiled pour in most of the water to your large jug and give it a good mix.

Remove the tea bags from the jug after about 5 minutes unless you enjoy a much stronger taste. The apple mixture should be ready too, so carefully strain the mixture either into a small jug or straight into your tea mixture. Discard of any bits left over and stir the tea well.

Warning! If you are using a glass jug and wish to add ice cubes do not do this until the mixture has cooled slightly as you risk shocking the glass. I suggest leaving it to cool on the side for an hour then placing in the fridge.

If you wish to make this a boozy tea then simple add your alcohol of choice after it has cooled, this way you can taste it safely.

This recipe is so flexible too; don't want apples you can try my lemon iced tea, or try blueberries, blackberries, oranges, You name it.

Cheers!
