Blackberry Lemonade

A lovely refreshing drink with a fruity twist

Using the base lemonade recipe this just levels it up!

Equipment;

Large Air tight bottle - Sterilsed

Bowls

Measuring Scales

Measuring Jug

Whisk or Spoon

Funnel

Sieve

Small Pot

This makes enough for 1 full litre bottle and 1/2 a bottle

Ingredients;

150g Blackberries

To begin, sterilse your bottle either by Carefully pouring about 200ml of hot water into it, closing it up and shake it gently. Pour the water out and set aside to dry and cool.

Now for the hard part, zest all the lemons! Use the zest for tea, in biscuits or part of a marinade.

Juice all the lemons being sure to remove any seeds.

Weigh out the sugar and pour it over the lemon juice; stir it gently.

Now add 1 litre of the water, stir this until the sugar is dissolved. Taste the lemonade and if it is too sweet add another 250ml and repeat until you reach the desired taste. I used 1500ml as this resulted in still being sweet but not lemon face sweet.

Now place the blackberries in the small pan and place on a medium heat until they turn into a puree. This takes around 5 -8 minutes.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool.

Carefully pour over the lemonade mixture and whisk or stir together.

Using the funnel pour into your bottle and seal.

You can serve this over ice with fresh blackberries and a slice of orange,
