Perfect if you have some left over pastry and just not enough cheese for a toastie.
The night before I had made some chicken pies and just had some puff pastry left over. I didn't want it to go to waste, also Pizza was on the menu tonight so I thought I would create some sides.
These bites are super tasty and honestly very easy to make.
Equipment;
Oven at 180C
Chopping Board
Knife
Baking tray
Parchment paper or Silicone matt
Whisk or fork
Brush or spoon
2 small bowls
Rolling pin
Ingredients;
2 garlic cloves
3 tbsp. spoons runny honey
4 tbsp. parmesan
1 egg
1 sheet of Puff Pastry
Small amount of flour
If you are using frozen puff pastry, make sure it is thoroughly defrosted.
Turn your oven to 180C fan assisted and lets begin.
Crush and mince the garlic into a fine paste. Add to one of the bowls alongside the honey and give it a good mix.
Following that, flour your surface and use the small bowl or something to trace a circle from the pastry. If they are slightly thick use the rolling pin to thin them out.
Once you have as many as required, start brushing the honey garlic mixture into the centre of the circles.
Next, create whatever shape you fancy. I twisted the edges inwards. You could pinch them, fold them or leave them flat. Placing them on the baking tray as you go.
Using the second small bowl whisk up one egg and brush over the pastry to give it a lovely golden look.
Grate the cheese you are using and generously sprinkle on top.
Cook for around 10minutes, then check the pastry turning the tray around so they colour evenly. I usually give them another 5 minutes depending on size but no more than 20 minutes as the cheese starts to burn.
Carefully remove from the oven and enjoy.
Serve either warm or cold.
