Cookie Base Recipe

Your new favourite and go to recipe for cookies!

I have used this recipe countless times and it has never failed me!

Expect to see this page a lot when I upload a new cookie recipe!

This cookie recipe takes around 30 including cooling time.

Equipment;

Bowl

Wooden Spoon

Sieve

Baking Tray & parchment paper

Spoon

Scales

Oven at 180c

Ingredients;

225g Soft butter

140g Caster sugar

2 tsp Vanilla essence

1 Egg yolk

225g Flour

If you want to make this Gluten Free add 1/4 tsp of Xanthan Gum to your gluten free flour.

You can add all sorts of different ingredients into this mixture, as the photo shows you can pop chocolate chips in it or dried fruit!

Preheat your oven to 180c and line your baking tray ready. Grab your butter too if it is still in the fridge to soften it.

Measure all your ingredients out.

Grab your bowl and place then butter and sugar into it. Using your wooden spoon cream together until its well combined and lighter in colour.

Next separate your egg, save the white for icing! Add the Yolk and the vanilla into the mixture and combine.

Place your sifted flour into the mixture and mix well. The cookie mixture should be 'sticky' when its ready.

Using a metal spoon or scoop place the mixture evenly spaced onto the baking tray.

Bake for 12 - 15 minutes.

Once baked leave to cool on the tray for 10 minutes.

Enjoy!
