A beautifully converted farm house. Very rustic and amazing atmosphere.
What first attracted me to this place was the décor alone! I love that they have kept the old structure of the farm house and built around it, giving the atomsphere a very cosy yet modern feel to it.
Plus it was very open and bright which made a lot more welcoming.
After being greeted so warmly, myself and my partner, were seated quickly. Upon us deciding what to have we were given free water with a slice of fresh lemon which was a nice change from the basic you can normally receive. I know I'm sounding snobby but that little addition was particularly nice.
This time around we did not want any starters even though they looked delicious.
I decided to have a glass of Chenin Blanc, Paarl Heights from South Africa. This is a dry and fruity wine with lovely citrus aromas. My partner went for a Tangle Foot golden ale, 4.7% abv, this too was light with slight fruity hints.
This only happens once in a blue moon, Jack & I had the same main! Crayfish Linguine, it was based in a lobster bisque and white wine sauce accompanied with chives, parmesan and crispy pangritata.
Overall the dish was lovely, the only downside both of us noticed was the crayfish was either cooked for too long or placed in the dish too soon before serving, as they were slightly chewy. This usually occurs from over cooking similar to any shellfish really. Part from this the flavours were wonderfully balanced.
Now, we did have a selection of small desserts, however I was too excited for desserts I didn't take a photo. Sorry.
The little trio were, Orchard crumble which combined the flavours of a typical apple crumble with oats, salted toffee and a beer sauce. A simple yet lovely Lemon Tart and finally a berries and white chocolate panna cotta.
My final thoughts are, for roughly £48 this meal was well worth the money. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant and once we had finished we had another drink in the stunning gardens.
I would definitely recommend Peacock farm. So much I dragged my family back on the Sunday morning to have breakfast.
